Donald Owen Cassidy was born on April 16, 1927, in Vanceburg, KY and departed this life on October 14, 2025, at his residence at Ashwood Place in Frankfort, KY. A memorial service will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home in Frankfort on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Keith Felton officiating. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
The son of the late William Owen Cassidy and Hannah Pauline Harrison Cassidy, he pursued a life of spiritual and intellectual fulfillment. He graduated from Campbellsville University in 1971 and was a retired pastor. He enjoyed nature, reading, writing, and spending time with family and friends. As a philanthropist, he donated to many environmental and anti-hunger causes as well as volunteering with Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joye Joseph Cassidy, brothers, Eugene Cassidy, and William Cassidy, sisters, Ruby Cassidy McClurg, and June Cassidy Argo, and his son, Daniel Cassidy.
He is survived by a grandson Joshua Cassidy, a daughter-in-law, Ashley Cassidy and many nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made to Bread for the World, or the Audubon Society in Donald's memory.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.

My wife graduated from Campbellsville U. in 71 and I did in 72. Don was older than us but I remember him. We live in Frankfort, but I am disabled and unable to visit. Don was a good man.
