Joyce Johnson Obituary

Mrs. Johnson was born in Frankfort on June 10, 1940, to the late Leo True and Minnie Schott True Sauer. She retired from Kentucky State Government after 35 years. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Peaks Mill Baptist Church. She was an avid University of Kentucky fan and an all-around sports enthusiast. Mrs. Johnson loved animals and watching western shows and movies.
She is survived by her children, Richard W. Johnson (Susan), Gena L. Johnson, and Chris Johnson (Missy); siblings, Ronald L. True (Patty) and Gene True (Janice Harrod); and by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was also blessed with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Richard Johnson and son, Leonard M. Johnson.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to LIFE House for Animals.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
