LeEtta D. Warren, 83, resident of Lexington, KY, and loving wife of Shelby Wayne Warren went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 6, 2025. She was born to the late Benjamin Downey and Frances (née Farmer) Downey on May 1, 1942, in Hamilton, Ohio. She was a Southern Baptist Christian.
LeEtta earned a bachelor's degree in English from Campbellsville College (Kentucky) and a master's in education from the University of Dayton (Ohio). She was an accomplished educator. Notable positions during her career were teaching kindergarten at Miami East Elementary and serving as a guidance counselor at Miami East Jr. High and Miami East High School (Ohio).
She was an avid reader, talented pianist and organist, and enjoyed decorating around her home.
In addition to her devoted husband of 61 years, she is survived by their children: Alesia Marcum and her children: Jennifer (Jake), Lindsay (Ian), Nathaniel, Benjamin, and Jonathan; Lawrence (Amy) Warren and their children: Kyle (Emily), Matthew, Samuel, and Nicholas; David (Jennifer) Warren and their children: Riley, Reese, and Joseph; and Susan Cassell and her children: Allison and Colton; 4 great-grandchildren; and her brother James Downey (Carol). Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by one infant granddaughter, Cara.
Her services will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing. A visitation with light refreshments will begin at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The funeral will take place at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
