Frankfort - Cheryl Olds Cheek, 69, a devout Christian and local artist from Frankfort, Kentucky passed away at her home on Friday, September 26, 2025. Cheryl was born in Frankfort in 1955 to Clifton Harold Olds and Barbara Jean Olds Lancaster. She graduated from Franklin County High School and went on to study at Eastern Kentucky University where she earned a bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Cheryl was a devoted Christian who cherished music and volunteered her talents directing the choir and then later, playing the harmonica on the praise and worship team. She continued to bless doctors, friends, and family with her skilled harmonica playing including a special just a few weeks ago at Elevate Church. "It Is Well with My Soul" wasn't just a favorite song, it was her testimony. Cheryl's other passion was painting. There wasn't a medium she didn't explore, but her favorite was painting with acrylics. Several of her paintings can be found hanging in local Frankfort businesses. She loved her hometown and look inspiration from the architecture and community here. Cheryl is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael Cheek; her two children, Daniel Cheek (Mellisa) and Sarah Gregory (Jeremy); and her three grandchildren, Madison Cheek (Grady Bentley), Jacob Cheek, and Jaxson Cheek. A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a service immediately to follow at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) or Bluegrass Care Navigators. Pallbearers will be Daniel Cheek, Jacob Cheek, Jeremy Gregory, Mark Trivette, Grady Bentley, and Drew Ballard. Honorary pallbearers are Jaxson Cheek and Will Trivette. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
