Dick, I am so, so sorry to have found out you passed away. I was told of an email your wife had sent asking for people to stop by and visit to help you with your memory. I was planning on coming by to reminisce from our days in Forensics. Now, there were certainly stories worth remembering. :-) Shortly after I emergently had to travel to Michigan (where I still am) to take care of my father who has suffered a massive stroke. This afternoon you popped into my head. I called a wrong number... then sadly enough I had the thought to look online. It was there I learned of your passing. I found the correct number and called your wife, Ruth. I shared with her how happy we all were in Forensics when you and Ruth got married; how perfect the two of you were for each other. Your wedding was absolutely beautiful and spirit filled. I was so happy to be there that day. Today my heart breaks to know I was unable to attend your memorial service. I will never forget your incredible sense of humor. You were always cracking such funny jokes in the forensics unit. You had the happiest smile, from ear to ear, and when you smiled, your eyes smiled. I remember being in training and you were with me on one of my first investigations. You were a great teacher, very laid back, with positive input and I learned a lot from you. I spoke with your wife this evening and it was such a pleasure to hear her voice. She loved you so very much. I am so happy you found the right one and shared so many wonderful years with her.
My heartfelt condolences and prayers to Ruth and family, and all of Dick's many friends. Heaven has gained an angel, one that is surely keeping the other angels smiling and laughing. You will be so missed. I am thankful for the times we did run into you and Ruth out in public. God Bless

So sad to hear of Scully's passing. Many fond memories of meeting up at Shoney's for "all-you-can-eat" night when he and Kirby were on evening shift, and we always enjoyed our drop in visits at the courthouse. RIP my friend.
