Carol Jeanne (Boehme) Lorenz, 74, of Shawneetown, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025, surrounded by her family, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born August 20, 1951, in Perryville, Missouri, to Oscar and Louise Koch Boehme. She was a 1969 graduate of Perryville High School. She and Dennis Lorenz were married May 10, 1975, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna.
Carol was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown, previously serving in officer capacities with the Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She and Dennis were also members of the Gateway Farm Toy Club and often attended farm-toy shows.
With Carol, her family always came first, and she loved spending time with them. She further supported them by attending events such as bowling tournaments, softball games to watch her granddaughter, and her daughters’ band performances. She really loved her feline farm companions, going fishing, playing games – especially card games, family vacations, crafting, and teaching her granddaughter how to sew.
To cherish her memory, Carol leaves her husband of 50 years, Dennis Lorenz of Shawneetown; daughters, Laura Lorenz of Cape Girardeau and Cindy (Rustin) Johnson of Shawneetown; granddaughter, Laci Johnson of Shawneetown; sister, Gail (late Kevin) Weinkein of Perryville; Dennis’s siblings and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9:30 a.m. to service time, Monday, October 20, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown. The Rev. Virgil Kelm will conduct the funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests the Alzheimer’s Association or the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown.
