Cylesta "Lee" Sewell

SWANSBORO - Cylesta "Lee" Sewell, 72, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 4:30 PM at their home, 145 Foster Creek Court under her favorite oak tree. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and then again at a time of remembrance immediately following the service. She will be laid to rest at 3:00PM Monday at Seaside Memorial Park in Swansboro with family and close friends.
Born November 5, 1951 in Mobile, AL, Lee was the middle of five children of the late Carl Lee and Elizabeth Evans Hardison.
Lee was preceded in death by her brothers C.W., and Carl "Buster" Hardison.
She is survived by Garland, her husband of 53 years, of the home; sons, Brad and his wife Jade of Wilmington, and Brandon and his wife Marlana of Swansboro; grandchildren, Conley R. Sewell, Beasley W. Sewell, and Madison E. Sewell; and sisters, Chandra H. Davis of Swansboro and Charlene H. Ledford of Tullahoma, TN.
Lee lived for her family and loved them fiercely. She cherished her time with them and rarely (if ever) missed Conley's volleyball matches, Beasley's baseball or basketball games, or Madison's dance recitals. Lee also enjoyed traveling with Garland and her friends.
Lee loved walking the beach, collecting seashells, searching for sea turtle nests, and watching sea turtles hatch. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Lee Sewell to Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Patrol at: Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Patrol 312 West Firetower Rd Peletier, NC 28584.
