Dale Asa "Pat" Allen passed away peacefully at his home, on April 15, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Pat was born on August 16 193,9 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Wenatchee, WA, to Dale Kenneth Allen and Georgie Viola Butler of Lake Wenatchee. He grew up with his sister, Judy, at Telma Resort on Lake Wenatchee. Pat graduated from Leavenworth High School, in 1957, and attended Clark College in Vancouver, WA, before going to work for Standard Oil in Leavenworth, driving a fuel truck. He married the love of his life, Sheri Joanne Cearlock, on May 6, 1962, and they shared nearly 62 wonderful years together. In 1964, he joined the Chelan County Sheriff's Office where he attained the rank of Captain. He then became a Jail Administrator, until his retirement in 1990. After his retirement, he became the undersheriff in Island County for two years when he handpicked his replacement before returning home to full retirement with his wife in Wenatchee. During retirement, Pat and Frank Hoarst led a prisoner work release program in Chelan County for forest preservation.
Pat was a proud husband and father to two sons, Ken and Bo Allen, whom he and Sheri raised in Wenatchee. He enjoyed hiking, traveling, working on his many projects, and spending time with his family and friends. Hard working, honest and a man of true integrity, Pat also had a giving heart for all who were trying to better themselves, which included making sure the children of the inmates at the jail had Christmas presents each year. Always sharing his endless stories, life lessons, and wisdom, Pat was strong, kind, and a true man.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister, Judy Blessing. He leaves behind his wife, Sheri Allen; two sons: Ken (Laura) Allen and Bo (Alisa) Allen; his adored grandchildren: Mikaila, Peyton, Brooke, Patrick, and Jamie; and great-grandchildren: Bexley, Hudson, and another great-granddaughter due in June.
A Celebration of Life for Pat will be held at Ohme Gardens in Wenatchee, WA on May 18, 2024, at 3pm.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hospice Team and nurse Jackie for their care.
