Dakota was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on April 17, 2000 to John Rushing, the late Daphne Triche Rushing and Brigette Rushing.
He is survived by his sisters Maria "Elli" Rushing, Halayna Rushing, Hailee Krupp and his fur brother Teddy Rushing.
He is also survived by his grandparents Robert and Joyce Rushing, Barry and Charlene "Penny" Triche, Kenny and Diana Cato, and Steve and Cathy Edwards.
He had a big family and was loved and cherished by all.

Oh my gosh Brigette and John. I am in complete shock. I didn't know Dakota but I know he must have been amazing because he had yall as parents. Sending prayers for yall.
