Dolores Miranda Cofrancesco passed away peacefully at home, at age 95, on March 25, 2024 and was surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 22, 1929, in Fairhaven (New Haven) and was the daughter of Mark and Anna Gargano Miranda. Dolores Rose is survived by her children: Ronald, Louis (Nancy), Ann Marie Dressel (Charles), Peter (Mary), along with her grandchildren, Michael, Heather, Mark, Peter, Julian, Tyler, Mary Elise, Grace, and James, and her great-grandchildren: Peter, Gabriella, Colton, Mason, and Mia. Dolores was pre-deceased by her husband, Louis F. Cofrancesco, her brothers, Joseph and James, her sister, Shirley Miranda Smith, and her grandson, Louis J. Cofrancesco. Dolores possessed a sparkling wit, generous compassion for all, and a priceless sense of humor. She was a voracious reader, crossword puzzle aficionado, and lover of the Metropolitan Opera simulcast performances. But most of all, she loved cooking and feeding her big family and her many friends who were always welcome at her table. Among her most cherished memories were the days she spent in her youth at St. Donato's Church as a member of the Children of Mary Society until her marriage on July 4, 1951. Her faithful devotion sustained her through many challenges throughout her 95 years. Following our mother's request, a Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 4th, at 11:00 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Center Rd., Woodbridge, CT. A Celebration of Life gathering for Dolores' family and friends will be held after Mass in the church hall.
