Donna Jongeward Obituary
Donna J. Jongeward, age 80, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died on December 16, 2024, at her home on Lake Lida.
Donna was born August 26, 1944, the daughter of Everett and Henrietta (Scofield) Annis in Minot, ND. She attended grade school in Fargo, ND and attended high school in Jamestown, ND. She then went to beauty school in Jamestown, ND at David’s Beauty School.
She married the love of her life Brent Jongeward at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jamestown on May 12, 1962. After beauty school she worked 5 years in her mother-in-law’s beauty shop before opening her own shop Donna’s Beauty Hut in Jamestown. She worked out of her home and also went to a local nursing center to do hair. She also taught Sunday School for many years in Jamestown.
Retiring after 40 years they moved to their lake home on Lake Lida in Minnesota. She loved to fish, jet ski, cook, work in the yard, and loved doing things for her family. Donna was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She always put others before herself.
Donna is survived by her husband Brent; son Derrick, Fargo, ND; three grandchildren: Brendon (Kelly), Braden and Bryce; one sister Corriene (Mike) Beyer; daughters-in-law: Jennifer Radermacker and Heather Jongeward; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Brad; grandson Blayne; sister Dee Maris McCarty; in-laws Vic and Emma Jongeward, and sister-in-law Bonnie (Pat) Delmore.
She was loved by all that knew her and will leave a big hole in their hearts.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids with Pastor Eric Schwirian and Allen Westby, S.A.M. officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior.
