Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Doris Iola (Dugger) Clark, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at age 85. She was surrounded by many loving family members when she went home to be with our Lord.
Doris was born to Harold and Myrtle (Pippin) Dugger, on January 21, 1937 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma.
After graduation, she moved to the Kansas City area, where she met the love of her life, Gary Clark, in 1958 while working at Kansas City Life Insurance Company. Gary and Doris were married on September 6, 1959, in Mission, Kansas. They celebrated 63 years of loving marriage in 2022.
Residing mainly in Kansas (in between Gary's stops during his military service), Doris and Gary established long-time roots in Kansas City, Kansas, raising three children: daughters Michele Lynette, Denise Renee; and son Randall Wayne.
Doris loved the Lord and was an integral part of several churches, spending many years especially as a member of Grace Baptist Temple in Kansas City, Kansas. She and Gary spent a number of years in Ottumwa, Iowa after moving there for Gary's job with Amoco Oil. They were members of Calvary Baptist Church while in Ottumwa. Now that Doris has passed into the arms of our Lord, we are reminded that while this is the end of Doris' physical life on Earth, it's the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Harold Dean (Dug) Dugger, Frank Dugger; and sister Yovanna Davidson. She is survived by many loving family members, including her husband, Gary; daughters Lynette Lading and Denise Wakefield (John); son Randy (Shelli); sisters Nelda Dugger, Darlene Schmit (Dave); and brothers Ronnie Dugger, Bob Dugger (Shirley).
Doris also leaves behind many children who brought her tremendous joy: eight grandchildren (four boys and four girls); as well as twelve great-grandchildren (four boys and eight girls) and a thirteenth due in July.
