Earl Gene Berry Obituary
Earl Gene Berry, 73, of Metter, Ga, passed away on November 17, 2023, at his home.
Earl was a lifelong member of the Metter community. He was born the son of Wilbur and Willie Maude Berry. Earl was a beloved father and grandfather that loved his family dearly. He was a hardworking man who retired from Webb Brothers as a truck driver after 36 years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his side by side, gardening in his backyard and caring for his beloved tractor. Earl was a long-standing member of Faith Ministries and Freewill Baptist Church. One thing he always held close to his heart was his favorite saying "Love is never having to say you're sorry" which embodied how he lived his life with kindness. He loved to see a smile on everyone's face. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Lewis Berry Jr., and two brothers-in-law, Roy Beasley and Gene Collins.
His memory is kept alive by his sons, Joshua (Crystal) Berry and Brandon (Gidget) Berry; daughters, Beverly (Ricky) Patrick, Kim Berry, and Daffney Berry; a brother, Glenn (Tresa) Berry Sr.; sisters, Ann (Dana) Berry Blocker, Delann Berry Beasley, and Donna (Gene) Berry Collins; grandchildren, Caden Berry, Kylie Aldrich, Jaci Berry, Dalton Johnson, Richard Patrick, Lyanna Baker, Ansley Lindsay, Brittany Vedder, Alex Holloway, and Kyela Baker; 13 great-grandchildren; a close friend, Diane Collins; several nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Patricia Johnson.
The graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 2:30 in the afternoon at Lake Cemetery in Metter, Ga.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter, is in charge of the arrangements.
