Earl Douglas Campbell

Mr. Earl Douglas Campbell 82, the husband of Joyce Hall Campbell, passed away Friday evening July 21, 2023, at his home, following a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's Disease.
Earl was born in Madison County on September 24, 1940, the son of the late Earl and Martha Jane Hisle Campbell. He was a 1959 graduate of Madison Central High School where he was a member of the baseball and basketball teams. He attended Eastern Kentucky University, where he also played baseball. Earl was a retired machinist for Westinghouse-Phillips. Besides his family, his greatest love was that of farming. He took great pride in raising cattle and tobacco and having an excellent garden. He also loved to hunt and fish. Earl was a member of The College Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Joyce: two daughters: Margaret Campbell Hurt (John) and Suzanne Campbell; three grandchildren: Jason Douglas Hurt (Abby), Jackson Hall Hurt (fiancé-Evan Bertram) and Laura Grace "Gracie" Hurt; two brothers: Herman Campbell (Bonnie) and Eldon Campbell (Mary Lynn); three sisters: Betsy Campbell Rogers, Ruby Campbell Dunn (Jimmy) and Imogene Campbell Hisel; a special friend: Dean Reed; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Pastors Ron Porter and Douglas Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Jason Hurt, Jackson Hurt, Herman Campbell, Eldon Campbell, Tommy Rice, and Billy Wells.
Honorary Pallbearers are Pete Cain, Frank Jones, Butch Perkins, Marion Cornelison, Darrell Tate, Robbie Caudill, Butch Tipton, Billy Winkler and E. M. Snowden.
