Eugene Harvey "Gene" Potts Sr.

Eugene (Gene) Harvey Potts, Sr. formerly of Pike County, Ohio and Southwest Philadelphia passed away suddenly on Feb. 27, 2022. Gene served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and received the Unit Commendation and Good Conduct Medals and just recently from the Korean Republic, The Ambassador for Peace Medal. He was employed at Fels Naphtha Soap Company for 10 years and Penn Shipbuilding and Drydock.for 25 years. Gene was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish and hunt mushrooms with sisters Bonnie and Louise. Gene is the son of the late Harvey & Fernetta (Nettie) Potts, he is survived by one brother Ronald (Flora) Potts and two sisters Bonnie Potts Cooper (Jack) and Louise Potts Williamson (Peter Decd). Deceased brothers Buster Potts, Charles Potts (Dolly.), David Potts (Frances), Russell Potts (Connie) and Jim Potts (Margie) sisters Ruth Ann Potts, and Dorothy Potts Tener (Louis), and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins Gene is the devoted husband of Mary Grace (nee Grande) Potts, loving father of Thomas Potts (Decd),( Mary), Beverly (Johnathan) Potts-Friend, Joanne Potts-Rossi, Carolyn (Richard) Potts- Hartman, Eugene, Jr. (Lynn) Potts, and Stephen (Debbie) Potts. Survived by 21 grandchildren, 5 deceased grandchildren, Shawn Potts, Heather Potts, Jeremiah Friend, Jonathan Friend, and Jason Potts. 31 great grandchildren, 10 great, great grandchildren and one great great on the way. Relatives & Friends are invited to his viewing Sunday 2-4pm at the Danjolell-Stigale Memorial Home 3260 Concord Road Aston Pa. 19014 and to his viewing Monday 9-10:15 am at the Divine Mercy Worship Site (Formally St. Irenaeus Church) 2728 S. 73rd Street Phila. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am. Interment will be at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
