Fred Crider Obituary

Fred was a veteran of the United States Army. He spent many years farming in Southern Lancaster County. He was an active member of Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church, Quarryville Lions Club, and Gideons International.
Fred is survived by 3 children: Allan (Barb) Crider, Diane (Dr. Kevin) Lorah, and Dr. Debra (Dr. David) Lawrence; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Rick Crider and 4 siblings.
A Funeral Service will take place at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Rd., Lancaster, PA on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing at the church from 10-11 a.m.
Private interment will take place in the Quarryville Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 97251, Washington D.C. 20090-7251. To share a memory, visit: dewalds.com

I have such wonderful memories of Fred. Being part of our church family for many years, he always had a smile and shared encouraging words to me and our family. It was a privilege to have known both Fred and Evelyn. What a wonderful legacy they leave for their family.

I miss you Epa. As you passed this week at 91yrs old I want to say thank you for the example you set of loving people and working hard. I love how you gave a pocket New Testament to everyone that visited the farm and told them about your hope in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Thanks for teaching us grandkids to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). I love you, and you´re the best!

Tracy Mellott, My grandfather was Kenneth Hendershot brother to Fred's mother Ethyl. I only met Fred a few times but remember him as a nice man.
