Richard H. "Dick" Hambleton, 80, of New Providence, passed away at his home on Friday, October 31, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen S. (Hoober) Hambleton, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in East Drumore Township, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Catherine L. (Herr) Hambleton.
Dick attended Solanco Schools and began his working career as a molder at Buck Iron for 26 years. Being a gifted mechanic, Dick went on to start his own business in 1987, Hambleton's Repair Service, repairing small engines for the community, retiring in 2001. In his spare time, Dick enjoyed going to sales to buy equipment and he enjoyed following NASCAR. He was an active member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church, having served as chairman of the church counsel.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Lori Shadwell, of Florida, Richard (Rose) Hambleton, of MD, Eric (Jessica) Hambleton, of New Providence, and Clifford (Jennifer) Hambleton, of Mechanicsburg. He is also survived by a brother, William Hambleton, of New Providence, a sister, Janie Lawrence, of Tayloria, eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hambleton.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 6, at Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, 227 West 4th Street, Quarryville, PA 17566, with Pastor Blake Deibler officiating. Viewings will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 5, from 6 PM – 8 PM and on Thursday, November 6, from 1 PM – 2 PM. Interment will follow the service in Mount Hope United Methodist Cemetery.
