El Dr. Vázquez tuvo una larga y exitosa carrera como médico pulmonar y de cuidados intensivos. Era muy respetado en la comunidad médica por su compasión, dedicación y experiencia.
En su vida personal, Genaro fue un amante esposo de su esposa, Rosamaría, durante 52 años. Juntos, criaron a cuatro hijos y dieron la bienvenida a 12 nietos a su familia. Genaro fue un padre y abuelo amable y solidario que siempre puso a su familia en primer lugar.
El Dr. Vázquez será recordado por su servicio desinteresado a los demás y su amor perdurable por su familia. Tocó la vida de innumerables pacientes y su familia y todos los que lo conocieron lo extrañarán profundamente.
