Mr. Hector Raul Martinez

Mr. Hector Raul Martinez, born on April 18, 1947 in El Paso, Texas, to the late Rosa Martinez and the late Juan Martinez, passed away at age 71 on December 28th, 2018 in Austin, Texas. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1966. Hector served in the Navy Reserve from 1964 to 1966. He also served in the Marine Corps from 1966 to 1967. He worked in the Grocery Merchandising industry for 45 years until retiring in 2013. Hector was married to Martha Martinez for 51 years. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosa Lopez. Hector is survived by his sons, Hector Martinez Jr. (Michelle) and Andrew Martinez (Jene'); daughter, Alyssa Spivey (Guerin); brothers, Juan Martinez and Oscar Martinez; sisters, Irene Camañez and Yolanda Moran; grandchildren, Stephen Martinez, Haylie Peters (Garrett), Natalie Martinez, Brandon Sherrard, Ryan Sherrard, Gabriel Martinez, Ethan Sherrard, and Nathaniel Martinez; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends across the years. He was a eucharistic minister at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, and he was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Friends and family are welcome to attend the rosary service on Sunday, December 30th at 4:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 1520 N. Railroad Ave., Pflugerville, Texas, 78660. A celebration of life will take place on Monday, December 31st at 11:00 a.m. also at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church.
