Herman Jones Obituary
He was born in Eastman, Georgia June 9, 1944, to the late Alex Herman Jones and Jewell Agnes Blankenship Jones. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1999.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Catherine Mary Gregory Jones; and a grandson, Wesley Arp.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheri Arp; son, Greg (Janet) Jones; grandchildren, Jacob (Kimberly) Jones, Kirstie (Everett) Boutwell, Kayla Jones, Wyatt (Samantha) Arp and Francis Arp; great-grandchildren, Kian Arp, Lyllah Jones, Morgan Boutwell and Jewell Arp; sister, Faye Jones McNeil; brother, Billy (Dianna) Jones; numerous nieces and nephews; and his girlfriend, Linda Jones.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Live Oak Baptist Church with Pastor David King and Brother Charlie Hahn officiating. Burial followed in Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with military honors. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at Live Oak Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Greg Jones, Jacob Jones, Wyatt Arp, Everett Boutwell, Ken Jones and Christopher Brantner.
