Howard A. Hall, Jr.

Howard A. Hall, Jr. of Danville, VA entered the gates of Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 14, 2023 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center. Howard was born July 26, 1940 in Halifax County to the late Howard A. Hall, Sr. and Ethel Elizabeth Ingram Hall. In 1974 Howard married the love of his life, Carolyn Ann Davis.

Howard was employed by Dan River Mills until going into the U.S. Army, where he served in Vietnam. Upon returning home he was employed by Danville Regional Medical Center for 30 years as a General Maintenance Technician. After retiring from Danville Regional Medical Center, he worked at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center in maintenance.

Howard loved gardening, working in the yard and southern gospel music. During his walk with the Lord, he played guitar, sang in a quartet, and he and Carolyn had a nursing home ministry in Danville, South Boston, and Gretna.

Other than his parents, Howard was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Hartwell Hall; and his sister, Amanda Hall Tate.

Howard is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn; brother, John Wayne Hall of Danville, VA; nephew, Eddie Tate (Diane) of Ringgold, VA; and his niece, Sissy Tate (Wayne) of Ringgold, VA.

Special thanks to physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, and thank you to all the nurses and CNA's on the north wing at Riverside Health. Thank you to everybody for all the hugs, prayers, and words of encouragement during Howard's stay.

In keeping with Howard's wishes, there will be no public services.
