Howard Peter Pawson “Butch”, 76 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024. Born in Englewood, NJ he lived in Carlstadt, NJ before moving to Little Egg Harbor. Butch was a US Navy veteran and served on the USS WASP and was a member of the American Legion. Butch started his own hand tied fishing tackle business, Butch’s Tackle, in the 1980’s. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the sport with all who would listen and boy could he tell a good fish story. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of the Hudson River Fisherman’s Association, Bergen County Saltwater Anglers, Ocean County Saltwater Anglers, Beach Buggy Club, the National Beach Buggy Association, the NJ Fish and Wildlife Saltwater Recreation Association and the American Anglers LLC to name a few.
Butch was predeceased by his parents Howard and Regina Pawson, wife Patricia Pawson, son David Pawson and brother Carmen Campana.
He is survived by his loving son Brian Pawson and wife Michelle of Sussex, NJ, brother Dennis Pawson and wife Maria of Florida, sisters Doreen Ochs and husband Ralph of Michigan, Debra Campana of Nutley, NJ and Theresa Jones and husband Micky of Warwick, NY and his grandson Joseph Coats.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 2pm until the Funeral Service at 5:30pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
