Jacquelyn Heyn Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 12, 2012.
HEYN Jacquelyn Jean Heyn, 83, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2012. Beloved wife of nearly 62 years to William Heyn; cherished mother of Jill Heyn, Jan (Arturo) Heyn-Cubacub, and Jody (Richard) Prunty; devoted "Grandma Jack" of Sky Heyn-Cubacub and Sophia and William Prunty; dearest sister of Billy (Mary Jo) Klackle and Judy (the late Wes) Thorn. Jackie was born on June 19, 1928, to Ralph and Sophia (nee DeMorrow) Klackle, and grew up in Bridgman, Michigan. She was an outstanding cheerleader in high school, along with her best friend Ellen "Sis" Heyn. Jackie married Ellen's brother William Heyn in 1950 in a beautiful backyard garden wedding at the Klackle's home. Jackie started her career as a registered nurse by earning a nursing degree in 1948 at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She worked as an industrial nurse at Holley Carburetor in Detroit. Jackie and Bill lived in Roseville and Rochester, Michigan and began raising their three daughters Jill, Jan and Jody. Later they moved to Barrington, Illinois, where Jackie enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader for many years. She worked at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Illinois, and as a school nurse in the Barrington. In 1982 she proudly earned a Master of Education degree from University of Illinois. Jackie and Bill later retired to the warm weather of Naples, Florida. Jackie will be remembered for her loving heart, her caring manner. At the end, her favorite expression to everyone around her was "I love you"... we loved her too. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL, 60601 or www.alz.org. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Illinois, 773-281-5058 or www.cremation-society.com.
