Jim was a great biblical teacher. I took his class many years ago at Bethel Church along with many family members and was baptized by him in his backyard pool in Richland with my children and other family members. Looking forward to seeing him again in heaven one day. Well done good and faithful servant! you were a treasure.

I was deeply saddened to learn that Jim Hansen had passed away, but I am greatly comforted knowing I will see him again on the other side of this life. I've always looked up to Jim as an example of how Christ's love manifests in the lives of those who follow him. Jim was a mentor, role model, and friend to my family and I. I met Jim and his wife Jane at Bethel Church in Richland during a time of searching and great pain in my life. Jim and Jane met me where I was, and they both welcomed my family and I into a Bible Survey class Jim led on Sunday mornings. Because of their love for others, every Sunday class was a safe, inviting gathering that welcomed us like a warm blanket on a cold winter's morning. As the days and weeks passed, Jim and Jane showered the love of Christ on us leaving a life-long impression that still motivates me today. They both showed me how to love others and they introduced me to the most exciting adventure of a lifetime following my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I tear up just thinking about all Jim did for me, how he has impacted my life, and I rejoice knowing he is my brother who I'll see again. I love you Jim, and I'll see you on the other side!

I've known & worked with Jim since 1996 he as the VP of marketing for Geosafe; I was brought in to work on product development and enhancement for the GeoMelt technology. Since Jim was the quintessential marketing guy with the MBA, I figured he knew little about science & engineering and was just put in charge to keep the PhD focused and under control. In the first few meetings we had though, MAN! I was taken aback by the depth of engineering knowledge and suggestions he'd offer. Turns out he's a Mechanical Engineer 1st and an MBA 2nd. All right! Between the two of us, we developed some novel approaches to vitrifying buried contaminated materials that provided Geosafe with a number of new business opportunities. What a treat for me, us, and Geosafe.
The relationship wasn't limited to our professional/business interests, however. Jim's sense of humor provided frequent levity at my family's dinner table. My kids would look forward to hearing the latest Jim Jokes. And being kids, they'd roll their eyes when I said Hey! Wanna hear the latest yarn I heard from Jim today? and laugh til it hurt when I'd share it with them. Jim also included my son (Gregg) and me in one of his church functions where he taught us how to make corsages for Mother's Day. My wife (Sue) was very pleased and impressed to see the arrangement Gregg made for her.
Jim retired a few years before I did, but our friendship didn't end there. Jim became my #1 fishing buddy. Together with his son Chris, we spent many hours plying the local lakes, streams, and rivers in search of trout, bass, walleye, and basically anything that would take our bait except carp & catfish, that is! While heading off to our targeted waterway, Jim would share many funny and heart-warming stories about his fishing and hunting exploits with his Pop, his legion of kids, and of course, his wife Jane. They made the road miles fly by. Jim and his family have definitely blessed mine. Thanks!

I met Jim while working with him at Geosafe in Richland, 1994 to 2000. His good nature and affable character was immediately apparent. Oh yes, I had many lunches with Jim and the Geosafe team at Las Margaritas where Jim would educate us on the finer points of Mexican cuisine. Jim's hospitality knew no bounds, and he invited me and my wife to holiday dinners where he shared the great warmth of Jane and his family. Jim inspired me, through his work ethic and high moral character, to find ways to approach problems is a productive manner and positive attitude. Rest in Peace, You'll be remembered.

Jim and I went to Gonzaga U at the same time and graduated together, me in Chem E, Jim In ME in 1963. But we did not meet until we were both working for Al Platt at Battelle/PNNL in 1972. We spent several close days together at a Feel Good meeting in Grand Ronde OR. Im sure Jims family has some of the photos from that event! Shot Guns and all!
Jim and I became close buddies at Geosafe from 1993-2000 where we were both Senior Managers running the Company in the US, Japan and Australia! While at Geosafe we became regulars at 3 Margaritas for lunch. Jim was known as El Tigre and had a Special Mexican salad named after himself, El Tigre style resulted in lots of Salsa!
I attended Jim's Bible class in about 2010 and Jim and I have stayed in close contact and have met at several lunches over the years! Jim was a great human being! And his wife Jane, a great Lady! I will miss him! May he Rest In Peace! Will miss you Jim!

I'm so sorry for your loss of Jim. He will be missed by all that have met him. I've been a part of your family for over 30 yrs, however I don't know any of you very well. The few times we attended family functions, Jim always made me feel very welcome. I noticed that people used to hang around him. He was a very happy guy and I was always drawn to him. I thought it was because we were both married into this very large family and I always felt like a outsider looking in. Until I read his obituary I didn't know most of the things that were written about him. I now know why I was drawn to him and why I wasn't the only one. There was just something about him and I know now it was his faith. I just wanted you to know that he had an impact on my life, like my sure he had on alot of people. God bless you and your family.
