James Herbert Lee, of Bucyrus Kansas, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 27, 2023. He was born on November 27, 1929 in Waynoka, Oklahoma to Harrison E. Lee and Iva May (Walker) Lee. Jim began his career at the age of 16 with the Santa Fe Railroad. In the 40 years with the railroad his job took him to Amarillo, Texas, Park Forest, Illinois, Prairie Village, Kansas and Topeka, Kansas. After retirement from the railroad, he followed a calling from God and became an Ordained Minister. He held several pastoral positions, ultimately moving to Olathe, Kansas to serve at Indian Creek Community Church. He loved doing his devotions every day and getting closer to the Lord.
He is survived by his loving wife, Luella M. Lee, son Steve (Lynette), son Mark (Pat), daughter Virginia (Brett Porter), and son Douglas as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, June 16, 2023 at 10:00am followed by the Service at 11:00am at Hope Chapel Church 12480 S Black Bob Rd, Olathe, KS 66062.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Shelter KC (www.shelterkc.org) or the charity of your choice.
