James Philbrook

James Philbrook of Manchester, passed away at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home after a period of declining health at the age of 72. He was born in Hanover NH to the late Irwin Philbrook and Doris (Hazen) Philbrook. He grew up in Lebanon NH but resided in Manchester for the past 53 years with his wife, Ellen (Plummer) Philbrook. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1968 and New Hampshire College (SNHU) in 1972. Prior to his retirement he was self-employed as a financial planner. He was the cofounder of the Manchester Angels Soccer league and coached many youth soccer teams for his children and grandchildren. He was an educational advocate for the state of New Hampshire. He enjoyed trips to the casino with his wife, Dunkin' iced coffee and DQ Reese's Blizzards. He is survived by his wife Ellen, two children, Stefan and his wife Moira and their children Lydon and Molly, his daughter Angela and her husband Joseph Mokeski and their children Nia and Matthew, his sister Joyce Jenkins and her husband Jake, father-in-law Gordon Plummer, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Gary, his granddaughter Maggie and his cat Goldie. At Jim's request there are no services. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Memorial donations in his name can be made to Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge Street, Manchester New Hampshire.
