Jean Mary MacFarlane Page, at the age of 91 of Abilene, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Jean was born December 9th, 1933, to James and Mary (Stailing) MacFarlane of West Concord, Massachusetts. She spent her formative years growing up in West Concord and graduated Dental Hygienist School in the Spring of 1953. Shortly after graduating she met the love of her life Samuel Machen Page, Jr. and they married a few months later September 12th of 1953.
They then moved to Kansas in 1954 and began their family there. She spent the rest of her years in Abilene, Kansas. She was a former CNA at Memorial Hospital, then moved on to be a Customer Service rep at Sears in Junction, City, KS. She then decided to dedicate herself to be a fulltime babysitter for her grandchildren and several other neighborhood children. After majority of her grandchildren were grown, she then started working for the Eisenhower Center and retired in 2006.
Jean will be remembered for many things but, especially the love she had for her family. She enjoyed bowling with friends, and hosting holidays with family. She loved getting everyone together and spending good ole family time. She dedicated a lot of her time to her grandchildren and was fortunate enough to also enjoy her great grandchildren.
Survivors include 5 daughters, Deborah (Alan) Dean of York, NE. Cynthia Pfaff of Olsburg, KS. Elizabeth Fahring and Laurel (Mike) Manning of Abilene, KS, and Rebecca Page of Red Cloud, NE. 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives too numerous to mention.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Samuel, son in laws Douglas Londene, Randy Pfaff, and Kevin Fahring.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 on Monday June 9th, at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home located at 414 NW 3rd St Abilene, KS. The funeral service will be at the same location on Tuesday June 10th at 10:30. Burial following at the Bethel Cemetery located at 2796 Mink Rd.
Memorials in Jean's memory can be made out to the Dickinson County Hospice or Village Manor.
