John M. DeSouter

John M. DeSouter, a longtime resident of Beacon, passed away on March 11, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was 74 years old.
John was born on August 5, 1948 in the Bronx, the son of the late Charles and Muriel Tedesco DeSouter. John graduated from Marist College in 1970 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. John proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1971 until his honorable discharge with the rank of Ensign.
On June 20, 1970 he married the former Mary Ann Gorey. Mrs. DeSouter survives at home. John worked as a salesman his whole life and worked as a sales rep for Nabisco, Subaru and Macy's where he worked in the suit department. John was an avid golfer and also a member of the Southern Dutchess Country Club. He was also a parishioner of St. Joachim – St. John the Evangelist Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Trinity Council #445.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kristen Causey and her husband, Michael; his sister, Linda Manns; his brother, Robert DeSouter and wife, Kathi; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, John Manns.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, March 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, Beacon.
Memorial donations in memory of John may be made to either Hudson Valley Hospice, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
