He married Elaine Eichelberg, April 26, 1950 in Chicago, IL and she preceded him in death, January 31, 2020, also preceding him in death were his parents, a son Richard and his brother David.
John served his country in the U.S. Army during WW2 and in the Korean War prior to receiving his honorable discharge. He worked as a Logistics Engineer with the U.S Government prior to his retirement. John was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the VFW post #2654; Elks lodge of Macon, St. Louis Masonic lodge #641 AF&AM and the Moose Lodge of Moberly.
He is survived by his children, Joanne Dinges of Fairmount City IL, Jean Hulsey and her husband Ernest of Huntsville, AL and Betty Grabenhorst and her husband Mark of Warrenton, MO, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Military honors and inurnment will be 1:00 P.M. Monday January 24, 2022 at the MO State Veterans Cemetery.
