NORMAL ~ Josef Michael Bloomberg, 60, of Normal, passed away at 3:06 p.m. Thursday October 26, 2017 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Born May 21, 1957 in Kewanee to James and JoAnn (Carlson) Bloomberg, he married Suzanne Sauers on March 15, 1977 in Ottawa, they later divorced. After his father’s death in 1959, he was adopted and raised by John Williams. He was also preceded in death by his mother and his special friend, Julie Schove.
Surviving are his father, John Williams of Normal; two daughters, Jennifer (Benjie Nighsonger) Bloomberg of East Peoria, Elizabeth (Colby Jeorgesen) Bloomberg of Bloomington; three sons, Lars (Amanda Williams) Bloomberg of Leroy, Michael (Laura) Bloomberg of Chicago, Jacob Bloomberg of Alabama; six grandchildren, Christopher, Justin, Randy, Jr., Juliann, Ariana and Mirabella; three brothers, Jim (Mary) Bloomberg of Berwick, Dennis (Nancy) Williams of Rapid City, South Dakota, John (Jacqueline) Williams of Eureka and one sister, Gina Williams of Eureka.
Josef had been a self-employed finish carpenter for many years, retiring in 2012.
A loving Grandpa, he enjoyed working with wood and was an avid fan of Chicago Cubs baseball and NASCAR, particularly Kyle Busch. He also enjoyed hanging out and having an adult beverage with his friends and family.
His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at South Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Office of Development, Shriner's Childrens Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.
