Joseph M. Acevedo, 62, October 17, 2022. Beloved son of Juanita Ramirez and the late Vincent Acevedo Sr., loving brother of the late Frank (late Olivia) Acevedo, Roxann (Humbartos) Hofman, Alexander (Faye) Acevedo, Vincent Acevedo Jr. Anthony (Olga) Acevedo, and Mark (Marissa Mancillas); fun loving uncle of numerous dearest nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Joe was born and raised in the Pilsen neighborhood. He was very passionate about his love for boats. He would proudly take on any side job for people who needed work done on them. He was nicknamed the "family babysitter," and started babysitting with his nieces and nephews, and continued on over the years, babysitting his great-nieces and great-nephews. Joe was an avid Sox fan, and of course enjoyed his occnasional cold cerveza! His family described him as a "Ladies Man!" He will be forever remembered for his outgoing, funny, and sociable personality.
Services will be held at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service beginning at 6 p.m. Cremation will follow in accordance with Joe's wishes.
