Joseph was born on July 28, 1933 in Gilman, the son of Norman Edward and Hazel (Chase) Fordyce. He married Marjorie Corkill on August 14, 1954 at Immaculate Catholic Church in Gilman and she survives.
Besides his wife, Marjorie Fordyce of Watseka, he is survived by three daughters, Deborah Hinrichs of Terre Haute, IN; Cynthia (Troy) Tooley of Papineau, and Julie (Jim) Fredrick of Watseka; 5 grandchildren, Rachel (Rob) Buckles, Natalie (Chad) Overton, Nathanial Laird, Jeremy Laird, and Cody (Kate Mueller) Fredrick; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, Dana Hinrichs; and two brothers, Mick and Jerry Fordyce.
Joseph worked at UARCO for 35 ½ years as a Pressman. He served in the U.S. Army.
Cremation rites will be handled by Baier Funeral Home in Watseka and private burial will be held at a later date.
