Juana Susan Allen Williams, of Jasper, FL. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, June 17, 2023, at the age of 60. The Madison County native was born on August 29, 1962, to the late Bryant Joshua Allen, Jr and Shirley Dempsey Allen. She grew up in Lee, FL in the St. Regis Paper Company community. While in elementary school, along with siblings Randy, Nita, and Dempsey, the family moved across the Withlacoochee to their house on the river.
Juana loved growing up at St. Regis Paper Company with Randy, Nita, and Dempsey. They loved visiting friends and cousins, sneaking out of the house to swim in the nursery pond in February, and having a front porch seat to the crime of the century just up the road. Growing up, Juana attended North Hamilton Elementary and Hamilton County Highschool, and also faithfully attended church with her family at Corinth Baptist Church. It was during these years, Juana made lifelong friends and grew to love singing and playing music, fishing, and being on the river.
After marrying the love of her life Richard and moving to their farm in 1977, Juana worked for years as the activity director at the Madison Nursing Center and for Optometrist Dr. Phillip D'Agostino, in Madison. They were blessed with two daughters. She shared a love of traveling & music with Jean Nichol. She spent endless hours caring for friends and family's medical needs with Lindsey once Lindsey became a nurse. In 1990, she began her 33 years of loving service to Harry T. Reid Funeral Home. She loved serving the families of Hamilton County in their time of grief, a gift she learned from personally from Mr. & Mrs. Harry T. Reid. Juana took what she learned from Mr. Harry T. and developed her own loving style of serving the families of this area. Juana was a pillar of strength and compassion for so many grieving families and she provided stability and guidance for countless members of this community by assisting them in laying their loved ones to rest. At home with Richard, Juana enjoyed mowing their pecan lane, loved hosting families taking pictures on their dirt road, and most recently enjoyed decorating and showing off her she sheds. Juana was wholly dedicated to her grandchildren. She spent many hours on the road driving to attend their athletic events, often driving to Macon, GA for games then driving home late the same night to prepare for a funeral or to help a family early the next morning. Juana cherished her sons-in-law Robby and Al. If given a final wish, it would have been that God would bring complete healing to Al so he could enjoy his family and work as much as she did. Juana was blessed in adulthood with the very best girlfriends. With her girlfriends and family, she loved to travel. She enjoyed trips to New York City, Niagara Falls, London, Moab, and any beach, lake, or river where she could simply lay in the sun. Her family's rich musical heritage prepared her for enjoying bluegrass concerts with her family and sitting around the piano for hours with her siblings and cousins singing songs from the hymnals. It was her privilege to play the organ for many years for First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Richard Williams; daughter and son-in-law Jean and Robby Stroud (Macon, Ga); daughter and son-in-law Lindsey and Al Hughes (Jasper); and her grandchildren, Allen Lee, Avery Stroud, Alden Hughes and Sarah Addison Hughes; along with siblings Randy & Gail Allen (High Springs), Nita Allen Cruce (Jasper), and Dempsey Allen (Jasper). Many nieces, nephews, and dearest cousins will also greatly miss Aunt Juana and cousin Juana Sue.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bryant Joshua Allen, Jr and Shirley Dempsey Allen, niece Sarah Catherine Allen, and sister-in-law Susan Allen.
