Mrs. Karen Whitlock Austin, age 67, widow of Robert Grady Austin, Sr., of 184 Lover's Lane Rd., Union, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Mrs. Austin was born in Union, July 16, 1955, a daughter of the late Victor and Alice Brannon Whitlock. She worked mostly in the textile and sewing industry. Mrs. Austin was a member of Faith Community Church of God. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and Nana.
Surviving are six children, Julie Pucket Woods, Crystal Bramlett and husband James, Christopher Keisler and wife Heather, Robert Austin Jr., Tiffany Tumax all of Union and Christopher Lee Austin and wife Bouakeo of Moore; a sister, Belinda Mosley and husband Stanley of Union; two brothers, Walter Whitlock and wife Robin of Union and Garvin Whitlock and wife Sharon of Gray Court; grandchildren include, Damian and husband Chris, Hunter, Megan and fiancé Sammy, Yana, Trinity, James, Bella, CJ, Jonas, Sophi and Chloe; great-grandchildren include Issiah, Lucas, Nathaniel, and Olivia and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Judy Hawkins.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of the 5th floor, Tower of Spartanburg Medical Center and the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for their care and compassion shown to Mrs. Austin and her family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Faith Community Church conducted by Rev. Steven McAbee. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday at the church prior to the services.
Active pallbearers will be Denny Quinn, Walter Quinn, Jamie Whitlock, Christian Still, Sammy Meadows and Dayton Caldwell.
Memorials may be made to Faith Community Church, 1113 Thompson Blvd., Union, SC 29379.
The family will be at the home, 184 Lovers Lane Rd., Union.
