SHELBY: Kathy "Kat" Watts Stanley, 64, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Watts and Helen Brown Watts. Kathy was employed with Atrium Health for nearly 40 years, and was of the Baptist faith and an avid animal lover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Buddy Stanley. She is survived by her brother, Michael Watts of Gaffney; and step-son, Chris Stanley of Shelby. Funeral services will be held 12:00pm, Monday, August 8, 2022 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Scott and Dr. Jim Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
