We are deeply saddened by the loss of Loretta Justine Flanagan, who passed away on December 5, 2023, at the age of 82 in Littleton, Colorado. Loretta was a loving mother, grandmother, and devoted caregiver who dedicated her life to her family and the service of others.
Born on October 30, 1941, in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, Loretta was the cherished daughter of Sabatino and Angelina Fratini. In 1962, she married the love of her life, Tom Flanagan III, and together they embarked on a journey of love and companionship. In 1978, they settled in Littleton, Colorado, where they nurtured a life filled with love, happiness, and shared values.
Loretta's role as a mother was central to her identity; she poured her heart and soul into being the best mom she could be to her four children. Family was paramount to Loretta, and she instilled in her loved ones the value of placing family above all else. She led by example, showing unwavering devotion, love, and support to those around her.
In addition to her role as a mother, Loretta dedicated herself to volunteering at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, where her compassionate nature and nurturing spirit made a positive impact on the lives of countless individuals. Her selflessness and caring nature shone through in all that she did, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
Loretta is survived by her children, Tom Flanagan IV, Maureen Wanty, and Matt Flanagan, as well as her "fabulous five" grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband Tom Flanagan III and son Mark Flanagan. While Loretta's passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of her loved ones, her memory will forever remain alive in their hearts. To pay tribute to Loretta's remarkable life, a funeral will be held on Monday, January 8, 2023, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Littleton, Colorado. The proceedings will begin with a Rosary at 10:15 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. A reception will be held afterward, providing an opportunity for family, friends, and all who knew Loretta to come together and celebrate her life
