I was one of her advanced biology students in the late 1970s at DHS. She always treated her students with respect and helped me develop a sense of curiosity about scientific inquiry. Her kind and gentle encouragements were so effective at getting me to think a bit harder and press myself to better understand the things that surround us. She helped shape so many minds and I am pleased to say that I was her student.

Ed, I'm gonna miss your mother. First I knew Mrs. Richardson as a wonderful teacher and then years later I met Mabel. I had lost my mom and she really helped to fill that void. I loved her spunk and the spark in her eyes. I will never forget the day that I realized that ""My Friend Mabel"" was my teacher Mrs Richardson and then I knew why I had loved her from the start. Having the opportunity to spend time with both your mom and dad was my blessing. Joel sitting quietly holding Mabel's hand, what a beautful thing. Orange Marmalade will always bring a smile to my face and hearing your mom say ""Darling, thank you and I love you too!"" I am so lucky I got to spend time with them at the Downs. Room 25 will always be for Joel and Mabel. I am sad for your loss. God bless you and your wife and family but most of all thanks for sharing.

Mrs. Richardson was a great teacher. She really had a gift for getting the subject material across, and helping her students to like an unlikeable subject. I wish the professors in College had been as caring and helpful. To this day some of the things she taught us come to mind in daily activities. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Remember our loved ones are never truly gone, they live forever in our thoughts, in our hearts and in our memories.

To the Family of Mrs Richardson, You have my sympathy in your loss. I am a student of Mrs. Richardson at Daniel High School in 1955-1959. I still remember her Physics class, siting on that high stool, her friendly, joval teaching style, and loving care for each of us students. I have reflected many times on this and wondered where and how she is. Even though I live close, I may not see each of you, but my thoughts go out to you for your loss, but I and you do have hope to see her again at that Great Reunion in Heaven! With all my Love, W Melvin Watson DHS 1959

Mrs. Richardson taught me Chemistry and Biology at Daniel in the sixties. Ed and I were in classes together. She was a great teacher and will be sorely missed by all whose lives she influenced.

Mrs. Richardson meant so much to me as a student. I graduated from Daniel High in 1977 and I've talked to so many of my classmates over the years and when teachers' names come up, one name they all remember is Mrs. Mabel Richardson. She was a fantastic teacher who taught us a great deal. She was truly one of those teachers who changed lives. I learned to love biology so much, in fact, that I became a biology teacher. I am finishing my 29th year of teaching and 12 of those years have been at Daniel teaching biology. Any difference I've made in teaching we can credit to her making biology literally come alive for me. She was a great lady and made such positive impact on all of us.

Mrs. Richardson's passing is the loss of an excellent teacher. I am sorry for today's students who did not get to know the delight of her classes. She was knowledgeable, full of joy, and had the ability to make her students eager to learn. I wish more of today's teachers were like Mrs. Richardson. Mary Chou
