Magaret Lowe Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 18, 2024.
Margaret L. Lowe, 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Liverpool, NY on Sunday, November 10, 2024.
Margaret was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her children, Deirdra (Jim), Danette, Tracy, Rodney-David, Russell, and Katherine, as well as several cherished grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughter, JoAnn; and son, Joseph L. Jr.
Born in Dorchester, SC, Margaret went on to graduate from Syracuse University with a degree in social work, dedicating her life to supporting and uplifting other. She was a communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, embodying her deep faith and devotion to her community.
Margaret was widely known for her warmth and her baking talents, particularly her famous fruit cake, which became a favorite among family and friends. A devoted foster parent for 11 years, she held a firm belief that "children need love" and opened her heart and home to many, earning a foster parent award for her commitment. Her greatest pride, however, were her own children, whom she lovingly regarded as her "pride and joy" and "greatest accomplishment."
She has a radiant personality marked by her resilience, gentle strength, and boundless love of life. Her love for singing and dancing brought joy to those around her, and her compassionate nature served as an inspiration to her family and friends. Margaret often said, "love is best expressed in actions," a philosophy she demonstrated daily through her kindness and service to others.
In lieu of flowers, Margaret would have appreciated donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, honoring her lifelong commitment to the well-being of children.
In accordance with her wishes, services were held privately. Margaret will be remembered with love and gratitude by all whose lives she touched, leaving a legacy of faith, kindness, and joy.
