Margaret "Marge" Hunt May 20, 1937 – August 16, 2025
Margaret "Marge" Hunt, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
Marge was born on May 20, 1937, in Ashland, Wisconsin. In 1957, she married the love of her life, George Hunt, and together they lived a life centered on faith, family, and friendship. For many years, Marge and George ran Hunt's Food Center, Economart, and Super Wash laundromats, proudly serving the town of Ashland and becoming a trusted part of the community.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George; her parents, John and Edna Falencik; her three brothers, Jack, Peter, and Tom; and her grandson, Hunter Hagstrom.
She is survived by her sister, Carmen Danker; her four children, Carrie Wartman, Geoff Hunt, Holly (James) Hagstrom, and George Hunt; her cherished grandchildren, Krystal (Cory Schaffer) Hagstrom, Robert (Shannon Mager) Hagstrom, David (Sara) Wartman, Charlene (Asa Suguitan) Wartman, and Cameron Hunt; her great-grandchildren, Juniper Wartman, Grace Wartman, and Aurora Rose Suguitan; and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Marge was known for her warmth and hospitality, often gathering family and friends around her kitchen table for coffee, conversation, and laughter. She enjoyed coffee with many different groups over the years and was especially proud to be part of one coffee group that met faithfully for more than 50 years. Marge found her greatest joy in raising her children and creating a loving home. She loved her time in Florida, spending time with family, making new friends, enjoying the sunshine, and escaping the snow. Marge also had a passion for cooking and baking, and she delighted in preparing meals and treats to share with the people she loved. She treasured days spent at her lake cabin in Iron River, where she welcomed family and friends for generations, creating memories that will last forever.
Marge's life was a beautiful reflection of love, generosity, and strength. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.
