She was born February 26, 1932, in Mt. Carbon, West Virginia, and was a daughter of Ira Sutphin, Sr., and Matilda Jane Kidd Sutphin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Frances Sutphin, Kenneth Sutphin, Melvin Sutphin and Larry Sutphin; daughters, Donna Patton and Joyce Patton; and grandchildren, Nick Patton and Hamed Jenami.
Margaret is survived by her brothers, Gordon Sutphin and Ira Sutphin, Jr.; daughters, Frances Patton, Dolly Patton Click and Evaughn Patton Jenami; grandchildren, Sarah Jenami Ocheltree and her husband Jason and their sons, Blake, Ethan, and Alijah. Hannah Jenami and her daughters Nickayla and Isabella and her son Ezra. Ryan Click and his sons Warren and Ryan Jr. Amy Click Clark and her husband Seth and their daughters, Ashley and Morgan.
Margaret was a Christian and strong believer in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Gordon Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow in Patton Cemetery in Soldier, Kentucky.
Visitation for Margaret Ruth Sutphin Patton Payne is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Inc., 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351
