Mary Ann Schwartz, age 97, passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2024. She was born on September 8, 1927, to Frank and Lena (Hellenbrand) Kalscheuer. Mary Ann married Harold Schwartz on June 17, 1948 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ashton.
Mary Ann was a woman of many passions. She found joy in creating beautiful rosaries, playing cards with friends and attending daily Mass. She loved to travel, especially enjoying bus trips and took great pleasure in watching the Game channel and Hallmark movies. She loved reminiscing about the past, going for scenic drives, attending church picnics, putting together puzzles and solving word searches. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mary Ann cherished every moment spent with her family and friends.
Mary Ann worked in the cafeteria at Memorial High School until her mid-seventies and was an integral part of the family farm in Middleton. Her first job was at Grabers in Middleton.
Mary Ann's survivors include her children, Janice (Don) Ballweg, Jerry (Jane) Schwartz, Donnie (Sue) Schwartz, Carol (Bill Vogt) Wipperfurth, Linda (Greg) Ruchti, Julie (Greg) Thering, and Michael (Darlene) Schwartz: her daughter-in-law, Karen Schwartz, 17 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Louise Kalscheuer.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; children, Steven and Susie Schwartz; granddaughter, Jennifer Thering; siblings, Viola Meffert, Stanley "Skip" Kalscheuer, Wilfred "Fritz" Kalscheuer, and Father Henry "Hank" Kalscheuer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 2015 Parmenter Street, Middleton. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery following the luncheon.
