Mary Ann Veltman Tassos

Mary Ann Veltman Tassos passed away, on September 19, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Erin Veltman; her husband, Wallace Tassos; brother, James E. Veltman Jr. and aunt, Kathleen Hermes. Mary Ann graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School and attended Our Lady of the Lake College. She went to work with SW Bell Telephone Co. and was a dedicated employee, for over 50 years. After retiring as a supervisor, she was very active in the Pioneers Association. Mary and her husband, Wallace operated the "Bean Pot" restaurant on Austin Hwy for 40 years. Mary was a talented seamstress and quilter and spent many hours doing charity work. While working at the telephone company she made many lifetime friends and closest of all was a group of friends who called themselves the "Lunch Bunch". She is survived by brother, Pat and wife, Judy Veltman; sister, Kitty Sebera; sister-in-law, JoAnn Veltman; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special recognition to Diana Ariola for her many years of dedicated and loving care to Mary.
