Mrs. Mazell D. West, wife, mother, nana, daughter, and sister who we loved dearly, passed from this life peacefully surrounded by her family on May 13, 2023 at the age of 76. Mazell, Mae to everyone who knew her, was the sixth of seven children born to John D. and Lillie Mae Dennis on February 16, 1947.
Mae was a member of Harvest Temple Church of God. She was a homemaker for most of her life and upon retirement, she kept her grandchildren and enjoyed living life with her husband, children, and grands.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Pearlie Busby Brown and Johnnie Mae Douglas, and her brother, L. D. Dennis. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Dalton L. West; two daughters, Angela West and Ashley (Anthony) McGinty; two grandchildren, Bryston and Briana; two sisters, Willie (Jim) Myers and Linda (Don) Cochran; her twin brother Dezell (Margaret) Dennis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Mae will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Harvest Temple Church, 111 Turner Street, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Harvest Temple Church with Rev. Edward Bean and Rev. W. E. Hutcherson officiating. Interment will be in White House Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Keith Dennis, Kevin Dennis, Ron Cochran, Jeff Williams, Trent Williams, Elvis Dearman. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Cherry, Josh Wood, Doug Wood, Shawn Dearman.
