Melissa Anne Chavez

Melissa Anne Chavez was born August 12, 1972. Our beloved Melissa unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2022 at the young age of 50. Services will be held on Monday, November 28 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church beginning with a Visitation at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. with Interment to follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Belen Moose Lodge once the services have concluded. She was a lifelong Belen resident who was a caregiver to many individuals including her mother, Cicilia. The simplest pleasures brought so much joy to Melissa. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, puzzles, and always had an eye for antiques. Melissa had a child-like heart, and loved to love on people. She was silly, fierce, outspoken, and oh boy, did she love to dance. Melissa had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. She was such a giving person, who always put others' needs before her own. Unfortunately, Melissa suffered many heart issues as well as other health conditions. She is preceded in death by her mother, Cicilia Chavez; maternal grandparents, Ramon and Eloisa Sanchez; and paternal grandparents, Jesus and Albina Chavez. Melissa is survived by her father, Ruben Chavez Sr.; children, Briana (Orlando), Mitch, Aspen (Kevin), Jordyn, Daniel (Annalisa), Jenessa, and Jeffrey; brothers, Ruben and Emilio Chavez; sister-in-law, Kim Chavez; grandchildren, Bradley, Brooklynn, Melanie, Emmett, Addison, Gracie-Mae and one on the way; nieces, Viviana, and Nicole; as well as Jeff, Helen, and many family and friends.
