Michael Eugene Hedges Sr.

Celebration of Life services for Michael Hedges, 70, of Pryor, will be held on Wednesday, August 24 at 2:00 PM at Blue Springs Church in Salina; burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Pryor. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Services are under the care and direction of Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care in Pryor.
Michael Eugene Hedges Sr. was born on November 2, 1951 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Floyd D. Briggs and Anna Lee Leach. Mike grew up and attended school in Salina. He played football in high school and was known to be very fast. After graduating, he attended Okmulgee Tech.
Michael worked for Red Devil Industries in Pryor for 37 years, and retired from there. He and Jean Harris were married on August 12, 1994 in Salina and the two made their home in Pryor.
Michael was a volunteer fireman for the Salina Fire Department for 13 years. He enjoyed fishing, grilling and smoking meat for family dinners and loved going camping. He also had a passion for gardening and always had an immaculate and eye-catching yard. He loved to dance with his grandkids and travel; what brought him the most joy was spending time with his family. He loved watching his grandkids play sports and never missed a game.
He is survived by his wife Jean, of the home; his beloved pet Chihuahua, Bella; daughter, Kimberley Conley and husband Brandon of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sons, Michael Hedges Jr. of Adair and Travis Smiddy and wife Mary Ann of Mounds, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Zaph Bobb and wife Brylee of Claremore, Zekial Bobb and wife Jaiden of Pryor, Zoe Robertson and husband Hunter of Fort Stewart, Georgia, Owen Smiddy of Mounds, Oklahoma and Aleigha Conley of Fayetteville, Arkansas ; four great grandchildren, Maelee Bobb of Claremore, Gracelynn Robertson of Fort Stewart, Georgia, Zion Bobb of Pryor, and one more on the way, Zekiah Bobb of Pryor; two brothers, David Hedges of Austin, Texas and Bobby Leach and wife Brenda of Salina and four sisters, Brenda Chancellor and husband Stephen of Salina, Carol Rigell and husband Kirby of Inola, Julie Edwards and husband Steve of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and Lisa D Apolito of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Edith Gann; sister, Connie Davis and grandma Lillie Davis.
Michael was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa and friend and he will be greatly missed by all those who shared in his life.
