Patricia L. Clarkson

Patricia L. Clarkson, age 69 of Marion, passed away Saturday morning April 28th, 2012 at her home after a long illness. Patricia was born August 27th, 1942 in Galion, Ohio as the daughter of the late Melvin L. and Edith E. (Paxton) Staup. June 13th, 1970 she married, the love of her life Larry E. Clarkson, in Pound, Va. He survives her at home in Marion. She was a past member of the Nevada Chapter Order of Eastern Star, and the Marion County Sheriff's Auxiliary 5120 club. Pat was an avid golfer, playing in three leagues a week, obtaining several first place league team wins and a hole in one. She loved to bowl and had several trophies for doubles, single and team events. She also loved to play bingo and looked forward to "Friday Euchre Night". She loved reading books, Crosword puzzles, oil painting and crocheting (she made 56 afghans in a single year). Her family made her the proudest. She was a kind, loving, strong woman. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. In addition to her husband Larry, she is survived by five children: Mike Keckler, Robert Keckler, Larry (Barb) Clarkson, Sherry (Corey) Young and Brenda (Bill) Russell, nine grandchildren; Samantha and Tyler Walderbauer, Ryan and Bethany Clarkson, Alyssa, Marcus and Aaron Cover, Paige Russell and Austin Keckler, sister Helen (Dave) Rutledge, mother-in-law Sylvia Clarkson, uncle Roy Paxton, aunt; Minnie Compton and special aunt Mary Clarkson, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, her best friend Dianne Ball and family. She will forever be in our hearts and memories. The family wishes to thank all of Heartland Hospice of Marion staff, especially Laurie Allen, her sweet and caring nurse who she thought the world of. Memorial Services for Pat will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday May 4th , 2012 at the Timson-Allen-Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia Minister Russell Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in Caledonia where the family will receive them one hour prior to the services.
