Patricia Hiatt Mason of Elliston passed away on June 20th, 2023.
She married Buddy Gene Mason at a young age and began building her legacy of love and a strong work ethic.
She worked at both Bassett and Walker and Ronile until she retired. Not being one to sit still for very long, she worked at Wal-Mart after retirement.
During her life, Mama brought about a great admiration from all of us kids. She was never one to back down and she taught and expected the same from us. Because of her unconditional love for us and the way she gave that to us, we knew she was always going to be in our corner no matter what and never let us be discouraged when life got in the way.
We learned from her to endure and to strive, and her legacy has been passed down to the next generation.
She left some big shoes to fill and some hearts that are broken, but grateful to have known her, love her and most importantly, to be loved by her.
We are her legacy and will forever miss her.
We are Buddy G. Mason, her children, James L. Mason, Eugene and Lisa Mason, Lena and Tommy Perry, Myndi Mullins and Jess Tatoy, and Joseph Mason, her grandchildren Jessica Bolyn (Brandon), Joshua Mason (Jenna) and Buddy Lee Mason (Haley), C.T. Perry (Abbi), Shelby Perry, Tangie Perry (Chuckie Dodd), Nicky Klein (Jackson), Stone Mullins (Tara), Brooklynne Mullins (Chad), Grymm, Lily, Baer, and Conall Tatoy, Rheygan and Irvin Flowers. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Matthew and Raelyn Bolyn, Luke and Sadie Mason, Braelyn, Brantley, and Brooks Perry, Dominic Dodd, and Lorelai Mullins.
She leaves behind her brother Sayford Hiatt and sister Vada McGlothlin and a friend who was a sister as well, Nancy Bandy.
This is your legacy, Mama. We love you from here to there and we look forward to hugging you again.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charity.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 01, 2023, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Blacksburg Fire Station #3, 407 Hubbard St., Blacksburg, VA 24060.
