Mr. Ra'kel Olajuwan Kirtz, age 25, transitioned on June 19, 2025.
Ra'Kel Olajuwan Kirtz (Kel, Kozart), the son of Willie Kirtz and Latisha Live, was born on July 30,1999 in Tarboro, North Carolina. "Kel/Kozart" as he was known to many, was educated in the Nash and Wilson County Public Schools. Kel/Kozart was a very out- going, funny people person that stood out VERY differently from others. He had a very caring heart and always looked out for others before himself.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving parents Willie Kirtz and Latisha Live; grandparents, Geraldine Kirtz, Sandra Harrison, and Roger Butler II; Aunts, Tabitha Bryant, Kawanda Haynes, Ruby Kirtz, Kesha Tensley, Jamie Simmons, Latisha Mikel; Uncles, Malcolm Live, Tray Butler, "Bam" Jones, Jamal Cameron, and Shon Cameron; Godmother, Stephanie Pulley; Special Cousin/Sister, Zy'Kira Haynes; and a host of cousins other relatives and friends.
A Visitation will be held for Mr. Kirtz on Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon at Red Budd Holy Church located at 637 Cleveland Street in Rocky Mount, NC. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 noon. The interment will immediately follow the service in the Gardens of Gethsemane in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
