BROWN - Rachel June Grit Brown, age 82 of Grandville, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Brown and her brother Donald Grit. She will be fondly remembered by her children, Karen Frank Cherava, Diane Leslie Stiles, and Mary Herrick; her grandchildren, Mark Stiles, Sarah G.Robert Carpenter, Elizabeth Stiles, Keith Herrick, and Kevin Herrick; her great granddaughter Elsa June Carpenter; her brothers and sisters, Henrietta Baker of Florida, Henry Joanne Grit of North Carolina, Jacob Grace Grit of Byron Center, Mary Hagerstrand of Florida, Robert Josephine Grit of Byon Center, and Patricia E.J. Durham of North Carolina; her sister-in-law Darlene Grit of North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 12 from the Cook Memorial Chapel east building 4235 Prairie St. SW, in Grandville. Interment will be at the Grandville Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home west building. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Living Center, 1050 Four Mile Rd NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504.
