Richard "Rick" Wayne Webster, 76, of Germanton, NC, passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital on Monday, May 1, 2023. He was born November 22, 1946, in Winston-Salem, NC. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nora Vaughn, son-in-law, Darrell Pyrtle, and brother-in-law, Don Bush. He attended North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, and received an Associates Degree in Nursing from Forsyth Technical Community College. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Rick was a CCU nurse at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital where he retired on disability in 2002. Rick was a member at Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debra Sparks Webster; daughters, Tammy Pyrtle, Victoria Webster, Tracy Hester (Bradley), and Kimberly Hurd (Monte); and son, David Webster (Rachel); 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; his father, Richard "Dick" Webster (Mary Alice); sisters, Linda Bush and Janet White (Chris); brother, James Hewitt (Debbie); along with multiple nieces and nephews, and life long friends.
Rick had a love of racing! He raced at Bowman Gray Stadium from 1968 to 1986, and then was a flagman there for several years in the 90's.
There will be a celebration of life service at Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church, 8104 Red Bank Rd., Germanton, NC 27019 at 7:00pm on Wednesday May 3, 2023 with Pastor Gary Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm prior to the service.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 39, Germanton, NC 27019 or Cassidy Keitt Racing, 7777 North NC Hwy 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
